VModel Distribution:
Installation:
- Install java. Java must be installed for VModel to work. If Java is not installed on your machine (or if you are unsure), follow the links provided below to find instructions for downloading and installing Java:
- Download the VModel distribution file for your platform. (from the classroom release links above.)
- Installing the VModel distribution file:
- Windows Platforms:
- Execute the distribution installer file by double clicking on it.
- Install VModel into the directory you want to run it from (default = c:\).
- Mac OSX Platform:
- Unzip the distribution zip file by double clicking on it.
- Put the VModel folder into your applications folder.
Running VModel:
- Windows Platforms:
- Open the VModel folder (located in the directory you just installed to).
- Double click the VModel.bat file (the MS-DOS Batch File). This will start VModel running.
- Mac OSX Platform:
- Open the VModel folder (located in the directory you just installed to).
- Open the Bin folder.
- Double click on the VModel.OSX.jar file. This will start VModel running.
- When VModel first starts, it will ask for a UserID. You can accept the default or enter a new id.
NOTES:
- When running VModel on OSX, always quit the application through the file menu. DO NOT quit using command-Q. Your work will not be saved.
- Please uninstall old versions of VModel from your computer before installing a new one.
