The NewMaap Simulation was a program developed to test Remote Agent. The program was designed as a spacecraft going to Saturn. The program had to perform the complicated maneuver of inserting into Saturn's orbit while taking pictures of the rings, and protecting itself from the radioactive particles in the rings. The simulation also had failures programmed in that Remote Agent would have to identify and attempt to fix. Remote Agent succeeded in developing a plan of how to accomplish the orbit insertion, executing the plan, and identifying and correcting the simulated problems. Not only was Remote Agent successful, but unexpectedly, it had an opportunity during the test to display a stellar performance.
