The following problems have been adapted from
Cengel & Boles__ Thermodynamics: An Engineering Approach__
(McGraw-Hill). These problems
are intended to both help illustrate the principles of
thermodynamics and to familiarize students with the various
features and capabilities of CyclePad. We have augmented the
original problems to encourage students to explain their
reasoning, demonstrate their understanding and draw conclusions
about the numerical data.

__Chapters 1 & 2:__table lookups, ideal gas, state postulate- Chapter 3: heat transfer and work, boundary work, closed-system energy analysis; specific heats, D u, and D h of idea gases
- Chapter 4: control volumes, turbines and compressors, throttling valves, mixing chambers and heat exchangers
- Chapter 5 & 6: heat engines and thermal efficiency, refrigerators and heat pumps, Carnot heat engines and refrigerators, entropy changes
