is DS1's mission?DS1's mission is primarily a technology-testing mission. In keeping with NASA's "faster, better, cheaper" objective for the new space programs in the New Millennium Program, DS1 contains several new kinds of space travel technologies that will do their work more efficiently than before. During its mission, DS1 could rendezvous with several objects in space while testing propulsion and navigation. While there, DS1 could perform some scientific observations to test the new science equipment.
