The proper use of modeling assumptions is critical to successful modeling.  They indicate that a device is adiabatic (contributes no heat flow to the working fluid), isothermal (works without changing the temperature of the working fluid), et cetera. You can make and retract modeling assumptions by clicking on the first line of a component's meter, which will initially read "Modeled as: Make Assumption."

The assumptions that CyclePad allows are detailed hereModeling_Assumptions.
