What does it mean to be autonomous?
To be autonomous is to be able to function without help. Remote Agent enables
DS1 to be much more autonomous. Remote Agent can create and carry out plans
to achieve the mission goals, can monitor the health of the spacecraft, and
can often repair the spacecraft autonomously. DS1 also has an autonomous navigation
system, called AutoNav, which is separate from, but works with, Remote Agent.
